  The Whoopee Hook & First Mate Awards go to...

At the May 13th, 2010 meeting there were three contenders for the Whoopee Hook; Captain Rick for throwing his wife overboard to clean out a weed-filled engine, Captain Bill Fricke for launching his boat without being aboard (and having to swim to get it) and finally Captain Ray Abrams who allowed his car to slide into the water because he refuses to use his emergency brake:
AND THE WINNER IS

Captain Ray!

Now on to the First Mates Award;

as you can see, it goes to a very deserving Dee Fritz who won hands down for hand-cranking the boat onto the trailer while Captain Joe sat in the air-conditioned truck and watched her!

Admiral Mary Caracci won the First Mates Award at the April 8th meeting for her wonderful, daily narrative of the Caracci Key West Cruise.  (pictured here with two of her fellow Admirals from the cruise, Barbara and Lynne)
Thankfully, there were no nominees for the Whoopee Hook this month!

Dave Caracci won the Whoopee Hook after landing his new Trawler on a Sandbar!  (and they STILL followed him to the Keys!)

We finally have a new Whoopee Hook Winner, and what a whopper of a tale!  BRAND NEW members Joe and Lynne Gallagher had a little mishap last month on their way back from St. Augustine.... it seems that Joe made the mistake of trusting his bride Lynne to get them back to shore safely with winds gusting up to 25 mph... apparently not such a great move, as Joe ended up in the water trying not to get run over by his nervous First Mate.  Joe tried to give the Whoopee Hook to Lynne, but we all know that the Captain is solely responsible for the safety of all passengers on his boat.  (Right Tom & Wayne??)  Perhaps Joe can give a speech next month on the importance of wearing a life vest! I suppose we can give the First Mate's award to Lynne for NOT running over her hubby!

I can't remember who received the December Whoopee Hook, and there seems to be no photo available so we will have to wait till January to see who's up next!

The November Whoopee Hook award goes to this young man...

October's award goes to Mr. Andy Anderson for running out of gas in the pontoon boat and having to ask a guest to get in the water with him and swim the boat home!

The First Mate Award goes to Re Re for helping Andy paddle back home!

September's Whoopee Hook award goes to Mr. Patrick Brennan for finding a sandbar on the way to Palm Coast while on the cell phone (and then trying to blame his lovely bride, Marisa!) Shame on you Pat!

The First Mate award goes to Fawn Chandler for quickly tying off the boat when Capt'n Rick backed it into the water with the boat unhooked!
