Conch House Marina
May 15th -17th, 2009

This past weekend eight boats traveled up the ICW to Conch House Marina and Resort in Saint Augustine.  Two boats departed early on Thursday; the rest of us who still have to work for a living headed up Friday by boat or Saturday by car.

Everyone enjoyed the marina facilities, lounging on the dock for much of the time.  We shared snacks on Saturday (except for Mr. Ken Kirby who purchased a fresh fish to share, but then waited for everyone to go to bed before cooking it! HA! You thought we forgot didn't you????)

There was plenty to do as always, and some of us went for a swim at the Conch House pool while others went shopping in downtown St. Augustine. (some of us even snuck in a pedicure, but shhhh don't tell the husbands!) 

On Saturday evening several boat members traveled by car and twenty-seven members, including our two youngest: Morgan Willis and Maddison Brennan, enjoyed a great dinner at Columbia House Restaurant.

Sunday morning we entertained the thought of heading back via the ocean... but then a few of us had a bit of boat trouble - as luck would have it, every one of our Captains is an expert on boat trouble! By the time we were ready the wind had picked up but good, so we decided this was not the time to tempt the ocean waves. We slowly headed back a few at a time.  Pat & Marissa brought up the rear to help with any breakdowns.  Thankfully, everyone made it back safe and sound!
