First Annual Pete Harris Memorial
Picnic at Bings Landing
February 21st, 2010
From our Social Director, Diane Kirby:

What a wonderful day for the Pete Harris
Memorial Picnic!!!! Pete must have had a hand in arranging for
that beautiful weather! A huge "THANKS" to David Riban for doing
an outstanding job of handling everything. The burgers & hot
dogs were delicious and cooked to perfection by Tom Henry.
Everyone else brought excellent side dishes making for our
typical FEAST! (This club sure knows how to put on a delicious
spread!) Because of the unusually cold weather we've had up
until now, not too many folks came by boat ... but I think the
five who did were rewarded with a gorgeous day on the river.
The turnout was still excellent ... at least 75 or so members
and guests. The hot new game this year was "Cornhole"
(translate: corn-bag-in-the-hole) and the club has some
Olympic-class players ... including the Frickes, John Kresl, and
Andy Anderson! Thanks to the Blakes for donating their game to
the club and to the Frickes for bringing theirs to the picnic
also. Bing's Landing was the perfect picnic spot last Saturday
... after that wonderful picnic, we enjoyed visiting with
friends, played some games, wet a line, and soaked up some
very-welcomed sunshine! No doubt Pete was right there
enjoying all the fun too! There are photos posted on the
Walgreens website. (see Members Only section for
instructions) Please add your own to the album so
we can all enjoy them!
