2010 River Clean Up & Rummage Sale
April/May 2010
From Fawn & our Social Director Extraordinaire, Diane Kirby
On behalf of our Community Service Director (uh, that's YOU
Doug!) I would like to thank all of you who showed up
early Saturday morning to pick up bottles, boards, razors,
cigarette butts, plastic bags, styrofoam cups, batteries, bags,
and other miscellaneous bits of garbage from the river banks.
Job well done crew! Since there is such a large group of
volunteers at our station near the clubhouse, we will be picking
up garbage by water next time around, so plan on bringing your
dinghies and small boats along with some tools to grab garbage
next year. ~ Fawn
A very large THANK YOU to
all who helped with the Rummage Sale! Although it required a
fair amount of work, it was also lots of fun. A special THANKS
is owed to Ray & Melva Abrams who worked very hard all day every
single day – Monday thru Saturday! Gracious, they were a huge
help! And there were SO many others who came and helped … THANK
YOU VERY, VERY MUCH! Also, we need to give another round of
applause to Mary Smith for handling this in years past. I’m
sure most of us have no idea what a job it is … I know I
didn’t. Now, on to the bottom line ... the final sales number
is $1,128.00. That is pretty darn good considering the times.
Quite a few of those dollars belonged to our members so THANK
YOU for supporting us! And, of course, THANKS for all the items
that were donated! It wouldn’t have worked at all without those
donated ‘treasures’… Diane Kirby

Bill Fricke caught red-handed breaking into a car!
