The Daytona Beach Boat Club members and theirs guests officially welcomed-in the new 2008 Board during their annual Commodore’s Ball held January 19th at the DBBC clubhouse. The 2008 Board (pictured from left): Dave Smith—Past Commodore, ReRe Anderson—Social Director, Bill Fricke—Vice Commodore, Larry Funk—Treasurer, Roger Scott—Community Services, Wayne Bowden—Commodore, Ginny Juliano—Secretary, Buddy McKernan—Rear Commodore, and Tom Henry—Cruise Master.

Special guest attendees during the elegant event included Mark Phillips and George Wakefield of SkipperBuds (d/b/a Halifax Harbor Marina). All enjoyed the meal service of Prime Rib and Stuffed Flounder by Glenn of The Clubhouse Restaurant.  Dancing closed the evening with the music of Greg Cardino.

As in previous years, Fran Klindt (Commodore ‘94) hosted the event as the outgoing Board paid tribute and thanks to the many committee chairs who facilitated the club throughout the year. Approached by new Commodore Wayne Bowden, the majority of the committee chairpersons agreed to ‘stay-on’ for the new administration. Outgoing Social Director Mary Blake did a wonderful job organizing the evening!

The Yearbook Committee presented the 2007 DBBC album and sold DVD copies, produced by Yearbook Chairman Erik DeSimone.  Copies of the DVD are still available for purchase, simply contact Erik.
